Equine Structural Integration

Updated: Dec 13, 2021

Equine Structural Integration is a body work method that improves your horse’s structural integrity and flexibility.

Structural Integration is a five-session series designed to achieve balance and fluidity and to relieve chronic pain through the manipulation of fascia. Structural Integration is designed to remove compensation patterns and obtain a sharpened connection and communication throughout the fascial system. It realigns the equine structure so that natural patterns and gravity can work simultaneously.

Each session builds on the last to integrate the body. Relieving stress and tension, and eventually return the body to its natural alignment.

Loosening and stretching of superficial fascia permits the liberation of underlying layers. Interaction between these freed intermediary muscles and tendons and deeper fascial layers allows the deepest lying elements (the skeletal structure), to find their place and exercise the function appropriate to their structural design. Structural Integration brings out the inherent natural balance and adaptability of a truly vital life-filled horse.

Structural Integration addresses the underlying structural system of the body, systematically making changes that help develop smoother strides, better balance, and increased flexibility and adaptability. This will help the horse to feel more calm, collected, and pleasant to ride.

This style of working with the horse physically, energetically, and psychologically helps to bring out the strength and promise in each horse, and helps bring horses into a more confident, comfortable, athletic willingness to partner with their riders.

Equine Structural Integration gives horses:

· More graceful movement

· Optimal overall performance

· Power and strength through efficient use of muscles

· Greater precision

· A prevailing sense of bodily comfort and ease
