We could all use a massage. Especially our equine companions.
Horses can develop muscle tears and strains simply as the result of strenuous exercise or, just everyday horsing around.
When a horse (or anyone else) has an injury in one area, they may compensate by using a muscle in another area. These muscles may not be built for the task they are being asked to perform. As time goes on these muscles may become stressed, and lifelong habits of compensation can develop.
Massage can release muscular spasms and constrictions, which can assist the structural integrity of the body.
